Sandnes and Stavanger lay so close to each other that it is difficult to say where is the boundary. Sandnes is located at the end of Gandsfjorden and is an excellent harbour in all weather conditions. The harbour is located in the town center, where plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs are available.

Nautical information

Guest harbour is located in the very far corner of the fiord. Moor here alongside. Water and electricity are available at the quay.

Practical information

Mooring fee should be paid at the reception desk of the Kulturhuset located close to the quay. In there one can also rent a key to the service area with bathroom and laundry, leaving a deposit of 215 NOK. Mooring fee is 100 NOK per day for boats up to 40 feet and 150 NOK for larger boats. Electricity cost 45 NOK extra.
In the tourist information center one can rent a bicycyle free of charge. Close by there is a bus terminal and a train station with frequent service to Stavanger. The airport can be reached by Flybussen or public bus no. 42.
While in Sandnes it is worhwhile to go for a hike to Dalsnuten. From the hill beautiful panorama of Stavanger, Sandnes and nearby fiords can be admired. From the town center it is best to take bus no. 29.
